About BOBCATSSS

BOBCATSSS is an annual library and information science symposium. It is held under the auspices of EUCLID (European Association for Library and Information Education and Research) and is organized by students from at least two universities.

BOBCATSSS brings together the professionals and students of library and information science field and gives them an opportunity to meet each other, share their knowledge and discuss the future of LIS.

The 25th symposium will be held in January 2017 in Tampere, Finland. BOBCATSSS 2017 is organized in co-operation with students from University of Tampere, Finland, Oslo and Akershus University College, Norway and Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. 

The first BOBCATSSS symposium was held in 1993 in co-operation between the universities from Budapest, Oslo, Barcelona, Copenhagen,Amsterdam, Tampere, Stuttgart, Szombathely and Sheffield.

In recent years, universities from other cities have also been part of organizing the event. These cities include Borås, Riga, Kharkiv, Moscow, Tallinn, Torun, Warsaw, Sofia, Ljubljana, Krakow, Bratislava, Prague, Osjiek, Zadar, Berlin, Potsdam, Porto, Ankara, Parma, Brno, Paris, Lyon and Knoxville.
